Lord is the only way to reach the Lord

In this song, the poet-musician Annamacharya teaches us that the Lord nArayaNa along with His consort SrI (lakshmI), stands as the sole means for us to be blessed to engage ourselves in a meaningful life serving Their devotees and singing Their glory.

Pallavi:**
mecchula dampathulAra mIrE gathi
mecchithi ninniTa mimmu merase mee chEthalu

Meaning:
Oh Couple of praiseworthy qualities! You are the only way. I praise you for
everything, as Your wonderful acts are brightly visible.

Charanam 1:
thammilOni maguvA! vO dharaNI dharudA!
mimmu nE nammithi nAku mIrE gathi
nemmadhinO indhirA! nIraja lOchanuDA!
kammi yE poddhunu mIre kalaru nA pAlanu

Meaning:**
Oh Lady seated in the lotus and the Lord Who held the earth! I
believe in You as the only recourse. Oh caring goddess indhirA and the
lotus-eyed Lord! Spanning over the time frame, You alone are there for me.
Note:
Lotus stands for softness and thus the Goddess seated in the lotus stands for the Lord's compassion and concern for us which is a soft quality. Lord being lotus-eyed means He has eyes which are wide enough to see and bless us anywhere.
Lord uplifting the earth and holding on His tusks when He assumed the form of a wild boar stands symbolic for His efforts to uplift us.

Charanam 2:
pAla jaladhi kUthura! bhaktha vathsaluDa hari!
mElicchi rakshimcha nAku mIrE gathi
kElinO SrImahAlakshmi! kESava! dayAnidhi!
thAlimi mIrE nAku dhApu daNDa epudu

Oh daughter of the milky ocean! Oh Lord Hari who is affectionate toward His devotees! To protect me and give me good, You are the only means. Oh SrImahAlakshmi! Oh merciful Lord KESava! Protecting me is just a playful act for You. You are my strength and You are always my means of protection.

The Lord is called Bhaktha vathsala because of His quality called vAthsalyam which is similar to the affection a cow has for her calf. Similar to the cow licking the dirt on the calf's body, the Lord even enjoys the faults of jIva and uplifts him despite all his blemishes and offences committed.

Hari stands for the Lord Who gets us rid of our sins. Here sins stand for all impediments in our realizing Him.

The name KESava stands for the Lord from Whom brahmA (denoted by ka) and Siva (denoted by ISa) were born.

Because of His eternal association with Goddess lakshmI, the Lord is always full of mercy.
The Goddess is called SrI because the jIva resorts to Her for redemption (SrIyatE iti SrI:).

Charanam 3:chennagu ramAkAntha chendhina vO mAdhavuDA!
minnaka yE poddhu nAku mIrE gathi
chinni alamElu manga! SrI vEnkatESuDA!
yennike kekkinchi nannu yElukonTiridhigO

Meaning:Oh consort of the Divine Mother mA(hence mAdhava=Father of the universe), to Whom She, the personification of goodness belongs (here goodness stands for His grace or dayA),
not exceeding any time limit, You lead us to Yourselves. Oh Youthful Lady
seated on the lotus and the Lord Venkateswara! You have chosen even me
(nannunu), lifted me aloft and placed me and engaged me (Elukontiri) in the service (to fellow bhAgavatas).

Note:In this song, Sri Annamacharya explains the Vedic tenet "yam Evaisha vrNuthE thEna labhya:" the Supreme Being makes Himself available to whoever He chooses. The concern or SraddhA the Lord has for us stands symbolic for SrI (lakshmI) and the very Lordship of the Lord is due to that, as Vedas say "SraddhayA dhEvO dhEvathvam aSunthE". Hence the Lord nArAyaNa is always paid obeisance as SrImannArAyaNa or nArAyaNa associated with lakshmI.
