Introduction
Many rituals are performed as part of the temple worship. While this temple worship as per Agama Sastras
is necessary for a disciplined way of running the temples, exalted devotees like Azhwars or Annamacharya
never emphasized on them. Their teaching is that the Lord is so powerful and benevolent that He blesses us
out of His volition without any wanting on our part. This is called nirhEtuka kRpA or causeless mercy of the Lord.
The title given to this article is swayam jAtah, a name in Sri Vishnu Sahasra Namam, which is defined by Sri
Parsara Bhattar as "prArthanA nirapEkshatvAt jAtah" One Who appears on His own without even expecting a small
prayer from us.

Pallavi
yagnAdhi phalarUpamitu nIvai yundavE
Meaning:
Yagna, doer of the yagna, enjoyer of the yagna and the result of the yagna, all are You. In Sanskrit, the root "yaj"
means worshipping the God. The Vedic belief is that one propitiates the Supreme Being and other deities by
performing Yagnas. As Vedas say "yagnO vai vishNu:", the Lord Himself is the best Yagna on Whom we have to
depend to realize Him and reach Him.
