Lord Rama as the remover of impediments

The Supreme Being out of His unconditional grace removes the impediments in our way to realize Him. This act of the Supreme Lord is called virOdhi nirasanam in Srivaishnavism. The killing of demons like rAvaNa etc. stands symbolic for this, as the Lord reincarnates as Rama, Krishna and so on.

Here is a beautiful song by annamAchArya that explains this concept.

Pallavi:
rAmA rAmabhadra ravivaMSa rAghava
yEmi yarudidi nIkintaTivAniki
Meaning:
Oh Lord Rama! Who descended in the dynasty of Ravi and Raghu, why is it so rare for You the Supreme Benevolent Lord to grace me?

nADu rAvaNu talalu narakinalAvarivi
nEDu nApApamulu khanDincharAdA
vADipratApamutODa vAridhigaTTina nATi-
vADaviTTe nAmanOvArdhigaTTarAdA
Meaning:
You have cut all the heads of Ravana that day, won't You destroy  the same way all my sins that stand as obstacles in reaching You? You have built a bridge across the sea that time with great valour, can't You quickly build one for my mind to be connected to You?

tanisi kuMbhakarNAdidaityula gelichitivi
kinisi nAyindriyAla geluvarAdA
yenasi haruni villu yekkupeTTi vanchi
ghanamu nAdurguNamu kaDuvancarAdA
Meaning:
You have won over demons like kumbhakarNa et al., is it not possible to win over all my demoniac senses? You have bent (broken for that matter) the huge bow of Siva, can't You subdue my solid vice?

sarusa vibhIShaNuDu SaraNanTE gAchitivi
garimanESaraNanTi gAvarAdA
torali SrIvEnkaTESa doDDugonchemenchanEla
yiravai lOkahitAnakEdainAnEmi
Meaning:
When Sri VibhIshana took refuge in You, You protected Him. Can't You protect with the same magnanimity me too who says You are my refuge? Oh Lord Sri Venkatesa! Why to differentiate between big and small, as long as it is in the world's interest?
