Lord is the Sole Doer

In this song, SrI annamAchArya explains how the supreme will of the Supreme Being alone prevails and the utmost dependence of the entire cosmos on Him.

Pallavi:
Evvaru karthalu kAru indhirA nAthudE kartha
nivvatillAthani vArai nEmamu thappakurO

Meaning:
Nobody is the doer, except the Master of SrI. Be His beings (consider yourselves to be) and never cross this rule (niyamam = nEmam in Telugu).

Charanam1:
karmamE karthayitE kadaku mOkshamE lEdhu, armili jIvudu kartayaitE puttugE lEdhu
marmapu mAya karthAyithE mari vignAnamE lEdhu, nirmithamu HaridhinthE nijamidherugarO

Meaning:

If our past karmas are the doer, there will never be deliverance at the end. If jIva is the doer, he will never choose to be born!
If mAyA or that will of the Lord which is incomprehensible by which we do not realize Him is the doer by itself, there will never be realization.
Learn the truth that all this is as set up by Lord Hari.

Charanam2:
prapanchamE kartayiythE pApa puNyamulu lEvu, upama manasu karthaiyuntE AchAramu lEdhu
kapatapu dhEhamulE karthalayithE chAvu lEdhu nepamu SriharidhinthE nErichi badhukarO

Meaning:If the material world comprising the five elements is the doer, there is no question of pApa and puNya (for it does not have any ego!). If the mind is the doer, there is nothing like following the right path (AchAram). If the deceptive bodies are the doers, there will never be death. Learn that all this is as willed by the Lord and live (meaningfully).

Charanam3:
palaSruthulu karthalai paragithE mEra lEdhu ala batta bayalu karthaithE nAdhAramu lEdhu
elaminindhariki kartha idhivO SrI vEnkatAdhri nilayapu Hari yinthE nEdE koluvarO

Meaning:If vEdhas with several statements are the doer, there is no boundary (that this is in accordance with them and this is against). If the open space is the doer, there will not be any support for anything. Knowing the Lord Hari Who has thiruvEngadam as His abode is the doer for all, pay your obeisance to Him today (now) itself.
